Stats: Bowlers Who Have Taken Two Hat-Tricks In One Match
Mitchell Starc
Australian pace bowler Mitchell Starc is keen to play some domestic cricket after completely recovering from his injury. The 27-year old, who is considered as the most lethal bowler in world cricket over the past couple of years, has not played for Australia since Champions Trophy.
He was rested for the sub continent tour after not being fully healed post-Champions Trophy and now the speedster is keen to play some quality domestic cricket to prepare himself for the upcoming Ashes series in November.
“It’s nice to be back bowling,” Starc said on Thursday (September 7). “It’s been fantastic to be back with the Blues boys and training around the guys I haven’t always had the chance to the last couple of years.
“Barring any hiccups I’ll be taking part in the JLT Cup and hopefully those first couple of Shield games as well.”
Ashes is one of the most fiercely contested test series of all time with the rich history of over 140 years. Every English and Aussie player would try to give their best in the epic rivalry, and Starc is no different.
“I’ve not played one at home, I’m really looking forward to it, I know the rest of the group are. The girls have got the (Commonwealth Bank Women’s) Ashes series first and hopefully they’ve knocked England over and we can just follow on from that and make it two Ashes wins for Australia in the summer.
“I think both the men and women are really looking forward to a couple of really interesting and fierce Ashes series.”
The 27-year old has also further revealed that the poor form of Australia in sub-continent does not undermine their chances in Ashes as the conditions are quite different in Australia and the team are well aware of their home conditions.
“It’s very different playing in home conditions compared to the subcontinent. It’s going to be completely different being a home Ashes series, conditions we know really well and it’s an Ashes series.”
