Has Yuvraj Singh’s international career come to an end? It is the question which has now become the talk of the town after not being included in any of the sides for Duleep Trophy; the all-rounder also failed to make it to the 14 member squad, which is set to face Australia in a one-day game on September 12 in Chennai.

The reports have suggested that the skipper Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri are not impressed with Yuvraj’s fitness, which is the reason behind his continuous exclusion. Yuvraj was the member of the team for ICC Champions Trophy and retained his place for series against Windies but was sidelined after first three ODIs due to an injury. From then, he is yet to spot a place for himself in any of BCCI’s teams. It has been reported that he along with Suresh Raina failed yo-yo test at NCA in Bangalore, but the latter has been included in Duleep Trophy side, which has given an indication that now the selectors are looking ahead of Yuvraj.
“Yuvraj’s fitness standards have fallen drastically and coach Ravi
Shastri and skipper Virat Kohli have time and again indicated that a
certain fitness standard is a must to make the cut in the national team.
The selectors want to look ahead and so does the team management,”
a BCCI official told PTI.
From Ravi Shastri to MSK Prasad, now everyone lay extra focus on fitness to sustain a place in the team, and surely, Yuvraj needs to get back his fitness to make a comeback in the national side.
