4) Sourav Ganguly’s decision to opt for batting and playing with two spinners in England in 2002:

Sourav Ganguly, who became the captain of the team in 2000, was the first time touring England as the skipper in 2002. Like MS Dhoni, Sourav Ganguly took the weird call to opt to bat in Leeds where captains usually choose to ball first. But the most surprising decision was to include two spinners in playing XI.
England was already leading in the four-match Test series with 1-0. So, India needed to win the third Test match to keep their chances of winning alive.
However, Ganguly’s courageous decision worked for the team, as the visitors stormed to a big total of 628 runs at the loss of eight wickets.
Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble combination worked as they together picked 11 wickets to help India win the match. The visitors were successful in levelling the series with 1-1.
