The major aspect of his retirement was World Cup snub. Initially, he was named as the standby player in ICC World Cup 2019. But, when a player was injured, they opted to pick Rishabh Pant over him, who also named in the standby list.
However, then came the poor decision from the selection, as far as, rules are concerned. When the other player was injured, they moved out of the rules and picked Mayank Agarwal, who hasn’t played a single ODI game in his career for India.
