Over the years, Indian Premier League has witnessed some outstanding knocks from batsmen. However, at times many have failed to leave a mark. They have got out scoring a duck which is frustrating for them.

Many cricketers have suffered such fate where they have been dismissed without troubling the scorers. As this cash-rich league takes a step to a new decade, let us recapitulate the names of batsmen with ducks in IPL history.

Meanwhile, here is the list of cricketers with most ducks in IPL:

Harbhajan Singh (13 ducks)

Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh tops the chart with 13 ducks to his name. Harbhajan Singh represented Mumbai Indians in the first ten editions of the IPL. Primarily a bowler, Harbhajan at times has come up to score quick runs for his team.

The 37-year-old has played some handy knocks for his franchise but his mindset to clear the boundary rope on every single delivery has hurt him a few times. Meanwhile, Harbhajan has bagged 13 ducks in 84 innings. With a strike rate of 142.42, he has smashed 799 runs in his IPL career.

Parthiv Patel (12 ducks)

The short height wicket-keeper batsman has represented as many as six franchises throughout his IPL career. Parthiv, who has done exceptionally well in domestic cricket, has failed to make an impression in white ball cricket.

Patel’s job is to give a brisk start to his team, however, he has failed to deliver on most occasions. The southpaw has scored 12 ducks in 117 IPL innings. Although, the aggressive batsman has a decent record in the IPL amassing 2322 runs at an average of 21.70.

Gautam Gambhir (12 ducks)

The aggressive cricketer has done well so far in the two franchises he has played for. However, he has a record he will look to improve in the upcoming edition. Meanwhile, the flamboyant cricketer has led Kolkata Knight Riders to two IPL titles.

In 147 innings he has scored 4132 runs at an average of 31.54. However, at times he has failed to give his team a quick start. In the 2014 edition, Gambhir got out for three consecutive ducks in the first three games.

In total, he hasn’t troubled the scorers on twelve instances. However, Gambhir will look to improve his record when he returns to lead his hometown team Delhi Daredevils.

Piyush Chawla ( 11 ducks)

The wrist-spinner was instrumental for Kolkata Knight Riders in their title win in 2014. He scored the winning runs for them in the final. He has played only 69 innings in 129 matches as he bats in the lower order.

However, Chawla has got out 11 times without affecting a change on the scoreboard.  The 29-year-old has a reputation of bashing the ball in domestic cricket. While he is known more for his bowling abilities, his form with the bat in hand has seen a dip given his mediocre average of 12.26.

Manish Pandey (11 ducks)

The middle-order batsman has been one of the star performers for the Kolkata Knight Riders. Pandey played a significant role in Kolkata’s success in 2014 where he helped them win the title.

The 28-year-old has scored at an average of 28.39 in the IPL but getting out on ducks seem to haunt the batsman. Pandey holds the capability to play long innings for his team but he needs a bit of time to settle at the crease. The former KKR batsman has scored 11 ducks in the IPL.
