Fans of IPL are set to receive a major jolt as there are as many as 5 games which are under the scanner. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is said to be probing the league and as per sources, atleast five games are under the scanner for spot fixing.

The ED officials on Friday raided two places in Mumbai, and one each in Delhi and Jaipur. The raids were conducted after the ED officials had kept a close eye on suspected individuals since a long time. The suspected individuals include bookies, team officials and players.

In Mumbai, there was one raid in the suburb of Borivali, and one in Ulhasnagar. The Ulhasnagar raid was made on Anil Jaisinghani’s house, a well known bookie in western Indian. However, there was no shortage of drama in this raid.

The ED officials arrived at Jaisinghani’s premises around 7 AM on Friday. With the house being surrounded by CCTV cameras, Jaisinghani saw what was developing outside and quickly alerted the local police. The bookie told the local police that there were miscreants who were trying to sneak in his residence. It took the cops a lot of time to make Jaisinghani understand that they were ED officials.

The ED officials though allege that Jaisinghani’s wife flushed out all his phones and SIM cards down the toilet bowl and the bookie himself was lying on a bed with an oxygen mask on. An ambulance he had called for while the ED team was struggling to get in soon arrived and took him to Jupiter Hospital in Mumbai.

Jaisinghani was in the news during the 2013 spot fixing episode as well when bookie Ritesh Bansal alias ‘Bharat Delhi’ was picked up along with ‘Shyam Delhi’ and ‘Lokesh Delhi’ by the Mumbai Crime Branch.

An ED official said, “Five games is our conservative estimate. There may be more games where spot fixing took place in this edition of IPL.”

Jaisinghani said that he was willing to co-operate with the ED officials and he will now appear before ED in Ahmedabad.

In another raid on Friday, the ED officials raided a premise owned by Shibu Gangwal in Jaipur and another premise owned by Mukesh Sharma in Delhi. Currently in Dubai, Gangwal supposedly channeled betting money from India to other countries through Hawala.
