Suresh Raina was regarded as the T20 specialist cricketer after he had scored mammoth runs in IPL for CSK but he struggled to play similar big knocks in international cricket. The youngster was looking for a breakthrough which he got in the ICC World Cup 2010 group stage match against South Africa.
Finally, the fours and sixes showered from his bat against the lethal bowling line up comprising of Dale Steyn, the Morkel brothers, Rory Kleinveldt and Jacques Kallis. He played aggressive yet calm innings.
Raina completed 50 runs in just 17 balls and got dislodged after scoring 101 runs off 60 balls. During his knock, he struck nine fours and five sixes. He became the first Indian batsman to score a ton in the shortest format.
As far as the match is concerned, India gave 186 runs target and won the match by 14 runs.
