#3 First bilateral ODI series win in Australia:

In December 2018, India visited Australia for a series of T20I, Test, and ODI cricket games against the host. The Men in Blue had a tremendous tour on the Australian shores, winning most of the matches played. India played the three-match ODI series, after four Tests, where Virat Kohli & his men knocked down the hosts by 2-1.
Although it was perks of not having the Australian expert batsmen, Steve Smith and David Warner, it was the inclusion of more of the rooky players that led the downfall of the team. In the meantime, India already won the four-match Test series while the teams shared the T20I title.
However, the opening match of the limited-overs game in Australia had led the visitors being held down by the hosts 34 runs. Nevertheless, Kohli & co took over the series from the second ODI in Adelaide where they won the match by six wickets to level the series.
In the series-decider game in Melbourne, India kept struggling in the first few overs of the match where the team was needed to chase down the target of 231 runs set by the hosts. In the end, Kohli and his men took over the reign of the game with the help of MS Dhoni and Kedhar Jadhav.
With that victory, Virat Kohli’s men not only won the ODI series but also clinched their maiden bilateral ODI series in Australia. India also became the first nation not to lose a single series on their tour down under which will go down one of the greatest moments of India national cricket team in 2019.
