- Jeff Thomson dislocates shoulder colliding with Alan Turner
Jeff Thomson was one of the most feared fast bowlers in the 1970s. The tall and well-built, Thomson had a powerful influence on the field. But on this occasion, he bore the brunt of a collision. When Australia played Pakistan in the first Test in 1976, Thomson was in good form and had taken two wickets. Zaheer Abbas then mistimed a shot and Thomson ran towards the leg side to take his third wicket. However, Turner was around and in his path when the two collided. That was the last Thomson bowled in the match as he dislocated his shoulder.
