Amarjeet Kaypee:

Cricket, top five, Indian Cricketers,

Before the likes of Amol Majumdar came into the limelight of domestic cricket, there was this Punjab lad who dominated the records table. The right-handed batsman held the record for the most runs scored in the premier domestic tournament, Ranji Trophy. However, despite his success, he could never make it to the national side.

The man of the big games, Kaypee is among those elite cricketers who dominated the Indian domestic cricket for over a decade. He had the knack of hitting big scores like a possessed man over the field. Before Majumdar came into light, Kaypee held the record of 7,623 runs in the domestic cricket.

He was the only Indian cricketer to have scored 150-plus in two innings of the same match in Ranji Trophy. Kaypee further scored 800-plus runs in back-to-back seasons with the help of eight tons.

Meanwhile, his best season came in 1990-91 where he ended up scoring 940 runs in the Ranji Trophy.

With 27 tons and 34 half-centuries in his kitty, Kaypee retired from cricket in October 2000.
