The Services’ mainstay cricketer signed off from cricket with an amazing knock in his 100th first-class game. He became the first player to do so for Services. The explosive middle-order batsman has played 125 matches ended with a total of 9,085 runs during his 15-year-long career.

Yashpal Singh, the most reliable and consistent performer for Services, made his first-class debut against Delhi in 2001-02. Meanwhile, his first major innings in first-class cricket came in the Duleep Trophy for North, against the South Zone. Back then, he scored 173.

Yashpal also became the first Services player to feature in the IPL in 2009. His explosive run-making ability had forced the Kolkata Knight Riders to have a look at him. Yashpal also represented the now-defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala for two seasons.

However, despite his impressive record, the right-handed batsman never got a chance to represent the country.
