Known for his brilliance and tactical power, the undisputed king and the chess wizard Vishwanathan Anand from Chennai has been a headache for his rivals across the globe before achieving the worth noting feats, as he has been an inspiration for many to gear up as a champion in the field of a chess.

Interestingly in 1988, Anand became the grandmaster and India’s first to mark the magnificent achievement to his credit.

The 47-year-old Grandmaster Anand, who is also a five-time champion of World Chess Championship (WCC), has further gone on to claim the awards of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna followed by Padma Vibhushan for his excellent services to the country in the first instance, as he has been the World Champion in 2000 and 2003.

Marvelous in approach, Anand has been an engine in itself to make things more complicated for best of his opponents on his day while playing the game of chess.
