The 33-year-old Secunderabad-born striker has been a cornerstone for Indian football, as he has also played for different professional leagues within the country.

The professional footballer has been highest scorer, as he made 94 appearances to register 54 goals for India.

The promising athlete kick started his career in 2002 for Mohun Bagan Club, before moving to Jagatjit Cotton & Textile Football Club (JCT) for whom he had played the significant role to become the popular figure in the field of soccer.

Moreover, adding to the achievements, Chhetri has been All Indian Football Federation’s Player of the year since 2013 to 2017, which further indicates his dedication to the game, as he has already left an imprint while joining the national team to rise to the occasion.

In 2007, Chhetri has played a pivotal role to help India win the Nehru Cup in 2012, after SAFF Championship in 2011 and Nehru Cup in 2009 respectively.
