Lalchand Rajput applies for India’s head coach’s post
  1. Lalchand Rajput:

Someone who isn’t alien to the functioning of Indian cricket, is Lalchand Rajput. Rajput, a well known coach within the Indian domestic circuit was at the helm of affairs for team India for a  brief period before Gary Kirsten eventually took over in early 2008. It was under the coaching of Lalchand Rajput, when India won that inaugural ICC World T20 in South Africa in 2007 and a few months later went on to create history by winning the CB Series in Australia. The most fascinating aspect about Rajput’s tenure was the belief which he instilled into a young and relatively inexperienced Indian outfit. It was this belief and backing which motivated the likes of Rohit Sharma, Ishant Sharma, Gautam Gambhir and a few others, to take their game to the very next level in the future. Currently coaching Afghanistan, Rajput should be perceived as someone really capable of handling this superstar laden Indian team.
