Dale Steyn was perhaps the best acquisition made by Gujarat. There could be no better bowler to lead the side’s newly formed bowling attack other than Steyn himself, who spearheads the best fast bowling unit in the world – South Africa.
Steyn was snapped for a worthy amount of 2.3 crores at the auction. The menacing fast bowler, however, was able to play only one match, in which he bowled 12 deliveries. His IPL career is not dull. His stats as the opening bowler read 92 wickets in 90 IPL games. He was an impact player in the 2013 and 2012 season for the Hyderabad franchise, where he ended with 19 and 18 wickets from 12 and 17 matches respectively.
