Five players who can be good all-rounder! 1

1. Ravichandran Ashwin

2nd Test - Australia v India: Day 2

Cricket fraternity in India does not consider Ravichandran Ashwin as a proper all-rounder. But, The Off-spinner has proved himself as an all-rounder. Sometimes he bats and scores runs when it is needed. His primary role in the team is bowling and taking wickets. He always maintain his role and responsibility.

He has touched the 1000 run mark in Tests. He played 36 Test matches so far and scored 1439 runs with 4 centuries and six half-centuries. His batting average is 34.26. With India willing to play five bowlers in Test cricket and ODIs, Ashwin’s role is surely going to change.

There are many advantages of playing him at number seven. India can afford an extra seamer in overseas conditions and an extra spinner in Indian conditions which adds a lot of penetration to the bowling.
