4.Steve Smith

For Steve Smith, 2019 can also be labelled as the comeback year, as he returned to the Australian team after serving a one-year ban in the ball-tampering case. The Australian batsman had the best outing in the Ashes 2019 where he was the highest scorer in five-match Test series.
In Ashes 2019, he was ruled out from the third Test match because he was diagnosed with a concussion. Though it didn’t halt him to score runs, becoming the leading scorer in that series with 774 runs. He then constantly performed for his team against Pakistan and New Zealand.
In eight Test matches played in 2019, the star batsman scored 965 runs at an average of 74.23, becoming the second-highest scorer in Test cricket in that year. His consistent performance adds him to this list.
