Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given happy news to fans after re-scheduling the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 in the UAE. The T20 league is set to commence from 19th September and the grand finale will be played on 10th November.
The coronavirus outbreak had ended all the hopes of the scheduling of IPL after being postponed indefinitely. The fear of the spread of the deadly virus had also postponed all the bilateral series. But the cricket found it’s way back after England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) organized the Test series against West Indies at home, last month.
ECB’s step encouraged other boards to bring back the sport. BCCI also found its way to organise the league although it will be played in UAE.
After an extended break, several cricketers across the world would be raring to feature in the most-awaited league. However, for some, the 13th edition of the league might be the last.
On that note, here, in this article, we have mentioned the players, who would be playing last IPL of their career:
Lasith Malinga started his IPL journey with Mumbai Indians in 2008. For 12 seasons, he has been playing for them and entertaining fans. As of now, he has played 122 IPL matches for MI and picked 170 wickets.
In the last edition, the veteran pacer bowled the crucial last over in the grand-finale against CSK. He changed the fortune for MI as he picked two wickets in that over and guided MI to their fourth title victory by one run.
Earlier this year, When the coronavirus has not attacked everyone’s plan, Malinga had indicated that he would retire after the T20 World Cup 2020. So, there might be a possibility that the 36-year-old would last time feature in the upcoming IPL season.
