Amit Mishra – The 34-year old leggie can be adjudged as the unluckiest player in the history of Indian cricket as despite performing at every stage provided with, he has not been given regular chances. Mishra made his ODI debut in the year 2003 and has just played 36 ODI’s since.
Lack of chances at international level have always hurt Mishra and once again, Mishra was the one who faced the axe as he was the only player to be dropped from the side, making way for Mohammed Shami.
Mishra could have been a big asset for the team in England, where leg-spinner have always been a surprising factor. Adil Rashid being the latest example, who took a fifer in the first ODI against Ireland but Indian selectors did not change their approach and dropped Mishra.
The biggest irony is that he was the Man of the Series in the last ODI series he played last year against New Zealand.
