Gautam Gambhir – 147 ODIs, 58 Tests and 37 T20Is:

Gautam Gambhir, who played a crucial role in 2011 World Cup final against Sri Lanka at Wankhede, was destined to play cricket for the longer run. But it hadn’t had been a case despite being a prolific run-getter. The southpaw had ups and downs during his career. However, he had often looked optimistic about his game.
While playing alongside Virender Sehwag, Gautam had scored consistently in 2008. In 2009, he had also proved his worth by providing his team with ample support.
However, the cricketer-turned-politician had faced a rough time post World Cup. With Dhoni relying on rotation policy, many believe that Dhoni had dropped Gambhir following a dip in his form, particularly in the ODIs.
Gambhir might have featured in a Test fixture in 2016, but he didn’t get a game in the limited-overs cricket after 2013. Thus, Gambhir announced retirement in December 2018 to play new innings.
