With the modern day ODI rules changing colossally in the favour of batsmen, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Tendulkar’s tally of ODI tons in overhauled soon. And who would it most likely be to overhaul his record? The modern day run-machine, Virat Kohli. With an outstanding 49 ODI tons to his name in 463 games, Tendulkar played in an era where the rules were far from being easy for the batsmen. To add to that, playing against some champion bowlers throughout his career was what made the Master Blaster’s achievements far greater. Kohli however, has simply ruled the roost in the last few years with his exploits in ODI’s. In just the matter of 189 ODI’s, Kohli already has 28 ODI tons and is third on the list of batsmen with most ODI tons, behind Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting. Given his rich vein of form, fitness and dedication, Kohli can overhaul Tendulkar’s record of ODI tons in the near future. Kohli on average, scores a ton every 6.75 innings, while Tendulkar did the same every 9.44 innings.
