- Test Runs:
The Little Master ended exactly with 15921 runs in 200 Tests, at an average of 53.78. Having played through four different decades and against bowlers of all pedigrees, it’s safe to say that Sachin was simply the best in this form of the game as well. Batting at number four for India, the great man was the spine of the Indian batting for a really long while. However, considering how frequently England play Test matches, by far the most for any team per annum, there remains a threat for Tendulkar’s tally of most Test runs. England opener Alastair Cook is closing in on Sachin’s tally and his runs stand at 11269 runs in 143 games. However, Cook’s average is quite lesser than Sachin’s and stands at 46.18. Nevertheless, with age on his side and if he strikes form any time soon, Cook could easily surpass the 15921 runs mark of Tendulkar and create history. However, for that to happen, Cook would have to play for at least another 3-4 years.
