- Test 50’s:
While this record might seem a little too odd, but it remains a statistical brilliance in Tendulkar’s favour. In an inspirational career which lasted 200 Tests, Tendulkar had 68 half centuries to his name, the most for any batsman. While England batsman Joe Root is still relatively young and just getting his strides in, he could well surpass this particular record of the legendary batsman. In just the matter of 56 Test matches, Root already has a jaw dropping tally of 29 half centuries to his name. While he may miss the three figure mark often, Root makes it a point to at least notch up a half century before getting out. If he continues at the same rate, he could well be ahead of the Indian icon’s tally.
