Top-5 Underrated Indian batsmen 1

1. WASIM JAFFER:

Jaffer is by far the most underrated Indian batsman. He is the highest run getter in the history of the Ranji Trophy. His numbers in a really long career have been completely impressive. More than that, he has played pretty well for India and has done a lot. Despite all the achievements, he was ignored by the selectors time and again. In the 31 test matches he has represented India; Jaffer has 5 centuries to his name. That is not a bad record we believe.

The Mumbai stalwart has a double century in the Caribbean. Not a lot of batsmen have that! To top it all, Jaffer even has a century in Cape Town, against a bowling lineup comprising of Pollock and Steyn. A home double century against Pakistan also has a mention in the stats. Even though he performed exceptionally well outside the subcontinent, he never got the due credit. The Indian selectors have made a blunder by rejecting such a fine batsman.

These were the tales of the five underrated Indian batsmen. The BCCI should learn from this and understand that to succeed, they must maximize talent.
