As Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to uplift the domestic structure as per the international standards, the Board is going to shell out a staggering amount of $10,000 (10,54,100 PKR) for each of the foreign recruits, who would be featuring in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Pakistan.

“$10,000 per match is not a bad option for foreign players,” Dawn quoted an official privy to the latest development.

Including the incentives, the sources revealed PCB would be paying the bonus amount to the players, who would represent the respective franchises of the Twenty20 competition.

“So if a player even plays only three matches in Pakistan, he will get straight $30,000,” the source added.

In a bid to attract the foreign players, PCB successfully managed to host the World XI-led by Faf du Plessis for the three-match Twenty20 series.

Since March 2009 gruesome attack on Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore, Pakistan could only host the top-flight cricket in 2015 when Zimbabwe visited Pakistan for limited-overs’ series before the embattled country hosted the seven-nation players in September 2017.

Following the Independence Cup which was held at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the fresh amount which has been announced would be separate from what players have already achieved in an auction.

The reports suggested with the fresh statement, PCB could add an extra section in the purview of the PSL’s rules and regulations which has described the process to its length and breadth.

As Multan Sultan made the appearance as a sixth side in the competition, the source added as many as eight teams could be expected in the foreseeable future of the league.

“The PCB is planning to host at least 6 to 8 PSL matches in Pakistan for the 3rd Pakistan Super League,” the source maintained.

As PCB release made it clear, by revealing the centrally contracted players must feature in the National Twenty20 Cup which is slated for November 7.

The release stated players would be allowed to participate in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and maiden Global Twenty League in South Africa scheduled for November only after representing domestic teams at home.

Moreover, as several foreign players have had shown keen interest to play in the professional T20 competition, Pakistan hosted the grand finale of the second edition in Lahore on March 05, under tight security grid.

As the situation started improving in Pakistan of late, the resumption of international cricket is expected to take place soon, like Sri Lanka and the Windies have had shown the keen interest to fly Pakistan already.

The players’ draft is scheduled to be held from the mid-October; the third edition of the PSL is expected to kick off from the second half of February in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
