Out Of Form Shikhar Dhawan Vows To Work Hard

Out of form India opener Shikhar Dhawan is determined to ‘work hard to chase his dreams again’.
The left-handed batsman is going through a lean phase for quite some time now. One of the batting mainstays across all formats ever since making his Test debut in 2013, the southpaw is not even a certainty in the playing XI right now- a shocking turn of events for a player who has averaged more than 50 in nine of the 17 series he has played so far.
After scoring only 138 runs in four matches during the West Indies tour last year, the 31-year-old has been consistently struggling to get going with the bat. He managed just 18 runs in the only Test that he played against New Zealand and was not a part of the squad for the Test series against England. Dhawan got a chance to prove his worth after being picked in the squad for the recently-concluded ODI series. However, his poor form continued as he failed in both ODIs with scores of 1 and 11 before getting dropped from the playing XI for the final match.
However, Dhawan is not ready to get bogged down by the tough times and is all set to work hard to get back his form. He is not a part of the squad for the upcoming T20 series but he’ll get a chance to impress the selectors while playing for Delhi in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Posting a picture of himself working out in the gym, the Delhi star wrote:“Sometimes life knock u down even when you work really hard for it!!! I am not the one who gonna keep lying der. I get up again and work hard to chase my dreams again. Nothing can stop you if u dont stop.”
