Former Bangladesh Skipper Khaled Mashud Hospitalised After Suffering From A Stroke

The Story
Former Bangladesh skipper Khaled Mahmud is in a critical state after suffering from a stroke on Saturday (July 29). He is currently under Intensive Care Unit (ICU) care in the United Hospital in Gulshan, Dhaka. The incident had occurred just a week after he celebrated his 46th birthday.
Speaking to a Bangladesh newspaper, The Daily Star, the BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus said:
“The members of the BCB learnt of his condition after making enquiries into why he was absent from today’s [Sunday’s] board meeting. He was admitted to hospital yesterday morning and is currently in the ICU.
“He is in a semi-coma, but the CT scan has not revealed anything too serious,” he added. Yunus also mentioned that Mahmud could be taken to Singapore for better treatment if needed.
Concerned Members Rush to Hospital
Mahmud serves as the Chairman of Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) Game Development Committee had an emergency general meeting of the board on Sunday but did not show up. The members were clueless about his sudden absence and after enquired, found out that his health condition has become severe.
Mahmud has been engaged in administrative roles ever since retiring in 2006 after fairly successful career. He represented Bangladesh in 12 Tests and 77 ODIs.
