Former England batsman knows why R Ashwin is enjoying Bangladesh vs England Test

Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is enjoying some quality time at home after playing an important role in the recently-concluded Test series against New Zealand. With India scheduled to play 10 more Tests at home this season, the selectors decided to rest him for the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand and the offie is making the most of the free time.

One of the most active cricketers on Twitter, the Tamil Nadu bowler never shies away from speaking his mind and once again took to Twitter to express his excitement over the ongoing Test match between Bangladesh and England.

Batting first, the English team was on backfoot right from the word go as they lost three wickets with only 21 runs on the board. The visitors were finding it tough to play against the Bangladeshi spinners especially Mehedi Hasan who made his debut in the match. With England set to visit India next month for a five-match series, the in-form Ashwin would surely be licking his fingers with the English batsmen’s struggle.

The Test match got all more exciting when Kumar Dharmasena gave two wrong decisions against England batsman Moeen Ali in the first over after lunch. Both the decisions were overturned after Ali reviewed the verdict. However, the visitors’ struggle would have surely made Ashwin excited. Unable to contain his excitement, the 30-year old tweeted:“Haven’t seen a more exciting first over after lunch in Test Cricket.#BANvENG.”

Until now, everything was fine but then former England player Mark Butcher decided to reply to Ashwin’s tweet. He tweeted:“@ashwinravi99 @AllOutCricket I know why you’re excited..! ?”

The tweet was surely an indication towards the fact that the number one bowler is relishing the prospect of bowling against the English batsmen in the upcoming series.

Well, the Indian spinner said that he did not understand Butcher’s tweets and further added that Mehedi Hasan, has been quite impressive. He tweeted:“@markbutcher72 Don’t know what you mean.Jokes apart this offie is good, Mehdi Hasan.”

In reply, Boucher tweeted:“@ashwinravi99 you would know sir! see you in the new year ?”

Well, Ashwin has been in red-hot form in the last year or so.He bagged the Man of the series awards in the last two Test series and if England performs like this in India, he will surely fancy his chances of getting the third in a row.
