With the ICC Under-19 World Cup barely a few months away in New Zealand, the Indian contingent is well geared up for the task.

Under the coaching of Rahul Dravid, the side finished as the runners up of the 2016 edition in Bangladesh. In that edition of the U-19 World Cup, India were undefeated till the final, before eventually losing to champions West Indies, in a closely fought game.

A lot of individuals from that World Cup seized their opportunities and went on to brilliantly showcase themselves in the domestic circuit. Rishab Pant as a matter of fact even made his international debut for India and has already played two T20Is. The likes of Sarfaraz Khan, Avesh Khan and Ishan Kishan continue to impress in the domestic circuit for India.

Recently, India’s upcoming batch of U-19 stars impressed mightily in England, by first winning the youth Test series, and then later clean sweeping the ODI series. It was the first time in the history of youth cricket, that a team won an ODI series by whitewashing the other team.

In England, several upcoming stars emerged for India, mainly in the form of Mumbai batting sensation Prithvi Shaw, Salman Khan and Punjab batting sensation Shubham Gill.

With Rahul Dravid busy with the India A team in South Africa, former batsman WV Raman was the side’s interim coach for the U-19 tour in England. Post the completion of the tour, Raman posted an inspiring message on Twitter for the team and wished the side all the best for the upcoming World Cup. Below, is the Tweet from Raman.
