Yuvraj Singh has failed to live up to the expectations after his comeback. The stunning 150-run knock in his comeback series against England earlier this year and the quickfire fifty against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy opener suggested that he had hit the top gear but his performance since then is a big indication that he is well past his prime.

After the fifty in the first game of the Champions Trophy,  he scored only 52 runs in three matches. His poor form continued on the West Indies tour too where he managed just 57 runs in 3 ODIs. Moreover, the likes of Dinesh Karthik, Manish Pandey and Rishabh Pant are breathing down his neck and if does not find his form soon, it can be curtains on his hopes of representing India in yet another World Cup.

Just like Yuvraj, the former India captain is also struggling to get going for quite some time now. Occasional fifties have managed to keep the critics silent but there is no denying the fact that he is far from his best. He was recently criticised for his knock of 54 runs off 108 balls against West Indies as many felt that the World Cup-winning skipper’s finishing abilities have diminished.

Moreover, several former cricketers including the legendary Rahul Dravid has already said that the team management should assess Dhoni and Yuvraj’s role in the team as soon as possible. Also, with Rishabh Pant waiting in the ranks, Dhoni needs to get back to his best at the earliest otherwise he might find himself in an unwanted situation.
