Shaun Marsh – If a list named players with most comebacks, he might get a top spot on that.
He has made more than eight comebacks in Test side and has experience of coming back strongly in difficult situations.
He may have just played 31 Test matches but has more experience of dealing with situations than any other player.
Marsh was the second highest run-scorer for Australia in Ashes 2017/18 where he scored 445 runs at an average of 74.16.
A veteran of 142 first-class games, Marsh’s name cannot be ruled out when selectors sit down to name Smith’s replacement.
