KL Rahul will be healthy for the forthcoming Asia Cup 2023, which will begin on August 30 and run through September 17. This is a huge win for the Indian Cricket Team. The right-handed batter who underwent thigh surgery is most likely 100% prepared for the Continental tournament.
Rahul last played for India in March of 2023 and his last competitive game came in the IPL 2023. He captained the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), when he suffered a thigh injury while chasing a ball to the boundary.
This led to him undergoing serious rehab, but ultimately had to go under the knife to rectify the issue. His lengthy rehab and recovery led to the fans and BCCI themselves sweating over him getting fit in time for the World Cup 2023 or not.
The injuries already kept him from playing in the final of the WTC 2023 against Australia and also in the ongoing West Indies series in the Caribbean.
But the cricketer has recently put up videos of himself keeping wickets and also batting in nets, though reports had suggested that might not be fit enough for Asia Cup, but according to a Times report, the 32-year-old is completely fit and available for selection.

“The coaches and medical experts at the BCCI’s National Cricket Academy in Bangalore are satisfied with Rahul’s progress/recovery. He will be available for selection for Asia Cup,” a reliable source said.
His return to the Indian squad will be a huge boost, given that he is a crucial part of the ODI setup, given his keeping skills and batting in the middle.
Shreyas Iyer might not be able to make it for the Asia Cup 2023
On the other hand, though, things do not look so bright for Shreyas Iyer as the report indicated that the batter is still experiencing back pain and trouble despite undergoing surgery himself. The right-hand batter missed the entire season of IPL 2023, the WTC 2023 final, and the West Indies after a back injury during the Sri Lanka series.

Iyer’s likely absence from Continental Cup gives Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav another shot at cementing their place in the ODI World Cup squad.
