Delhi captain Gautam Gambhir has falsified all rumors on social media about him ignoring Indian captain Dhoni for a “well-played” handshake after Delhi won the quarter finals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy by beating Jharkhand by 99 runs.

The video showing Gambhir not shaking hands with MS Dhoni after the match got over has gone over the internet. The clip shows the Dhoni going to every Delhi player and giving them a hand shake but as soon as he goes towards Gambhir, who seems to be coming from the opposite end, no hand was forthcoming which led to both players going towards their respective directions

But very few people have seen the footage when Gambhir shakes hands with the wicket-keeper batsman as soon as Jharkhand’s last wicket goes down. The media has hyped up this situation and therefore, to put an end of all of it, Gambhir himself tweeted on the social networking site where he posted a picture showing both World Cup winning players hand shaking.

Gautam Gambhir even mocks the media with his post, by saying that the media didn’t hype the handshake of arch-rival nations India and Pakistan’s Prime Ministers, when they met in Pakistan, as much as they have hyped the nation’s two cricketers, not going for a handshake.

The match was held on December 23 where Delhi gave a target of 217 runs. Jharkhand faltered at 126/10, Dhoni playing the biggest knock of 70 not out, providing Delhi with a win by 99 runs. Advancing to the semis, they convincingly beat Himachal Pradesh. Having won the title last to last year, Delhi wanted to regain the title but Gujarat didn’t let that happen. Gujarat skipper Parthiv Patel smashed his maiden List A ton to help Gujarat cruise to a big target of 274. Some excellent bowling display from RP Singh and Jasrit Bumrah, who shared nine wickets between them, saw Delhi getting bowled out at 135 runs, losing the finals and the title by 139 runs.
