Interestingly, Dravid, who played 164 Tests and 344 ODIs for India, had also refused an honorary doctorate from Gulbarga University in 2012.
Gambhir, who is currently out of the Indian team, later said he was never a fan of the honorary recognition and insisted that the country needs real heroes not honorary.
I've always maintained decorative, honorary positions should NEVER happen whatever d profession. My country needs Real Heroes, not honorary.
