Gautam Gambhir Launches Platform To Eradicate Hunger 1

The ever colourful Gautam Gambhir has launched a humanitarian initiative in his city of Delhi, in a bid to eradicate hunger. The southpaw, who played a key role in the side’s 2007 World T20 win and the 2011 ICC World Cup win, took to Twitter in order to inform the world about his campaign, titled as “Ek Asha” (One Hope).

The campaign surrounds the abject aspect of hunger, which affects millions of Indians on a daily basis. In a bid to ensure that he does his absolute best to combat this serious measure, Gambhir has set up a centre in west Delhi, which will provide free food to people from 1 PM to 3 PM daily, throughout the year.

This noble gesture is certain to be remembered by everyone around Gambhir, which just showcases his larger than life attitude. Gambhir, who last played a Test in November 2016, has been a vocal campaigner towards eradicating extreme poverty and hunger and even urged the politicians of the nation to do their bit on this aspect.

Apart from setting up an open community kitchen, Gambhir has also been a key supporter of the Indian Army, and several times spoke in support of the Indian Defense Forces. It is gestures like these, which make Gambhir an absolute role model for everyone, apart from superb batting displays on the cricket field.
