India v Australia 2017: Gautam Gambhir Mocks Naysayers in His Congratulatory Tweet For Team India

Former India all-rounder Gautam Gambhir has lauded the effort of the Virat Kohli-led Indian side in his typical fiery style. The series, which was tied 1-1 after three fixtures, was brought a perfect end to the home side as they reclaimed the Border – Gavaskar series with a 8 wicket win in the 4th Test at Dharamsala.

The deciding day of the final Test of the series was nothing short of a riveting experience for the players involved as well as the fans. After successfully fending off the last six overs of the final session on day three, India faced a couple of setbacks in the form Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara this morning. However, fans breathed easy when skipper Rahane joined Rahul and the duo pressed the accelerator to make the winning process quick.

The Dharamsala test also brings a wonderful end the much talked about ‘home’ season. India has now won all their last series against every Test team. Their record reads 10 Tests wins, two draws and one loss in this long home season which spanned for over six months. The Men in Blue can be really proud of the ‘conquer them all’ feat they have achieved. Skipper Kohli also has now won 7 consecutive series and stands only behind Australian great Ricky Ponting.

Obviously, with success, comes a bunch of naysayers, who find opportunities to crib even after being thumped. Gambhir, who knows about these factors quite well, made the perfect tweet which served two purposes at once.

He wrote: “True champions let their game do all the talking! Congratulations #TeamIndia on sealing a deserved series win!”
