Gautam Gambhir reacts for the first time after his Team India comeback 1

Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has taken twitter to express his delight over making a comeback to Team India test team after two years.

The 34-year old has been performing consistently in the domestic circuit and was deservedly called back into the team again as he looks to seal the place with the opportunity.

The injury to KL Rahul has opened the doors for the veteran batsman whose experience and form are set to make a huge difference for the team in the series. He is set to open the innings for India in the Eden Gardens, a venue which he made his own after his immense contributions to Kolkata Knight Riders in Indian Premier League (IPL) over the past few years.

Gambhir has made a series of crucial contributions in the domestic level as his scores read 77, 90, 59, 94, 36 over the last five innings in the Duleep trophy. The southpaw has last played a test for India against England in 2014 at Oval.

Expressing his delight over te selection, Gambhir has tweeted: “Excitement of a debutant, certainty of experienced, nervousness of a novice…am feeling it all. Eden here I come loaded with ambitions.”

He followed it up with another tweet which read: “Nothing beats playing again for d country. Test cricket, whites, red ball and India cap again. Thanks , thanks 2 all for d prayers.”

The 34-year old has thanked all his fans for their support over the difficult period he has suffered in the last two years as they have backed him to be a success despite not being in contention for a place in test team.

Several critics have raised eye brows when Gautam Gambhir was overlooked when the squad was announced earlier this month. But the injury to Rahul meant he was called upon for the team and everyone now hopes the Delhi batsman will fire all guns for India as he is set to start a fresh innings in his international career.
