During the course, a section of people asked Indian National Cricket Team to boycott Pakistan in upcoming ICC World Cup 2019. Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir makes his voice on the issue.

Fans should not blame the team – Gautam Gambhir

If India boycotts Pakistan in the game, they would lose a couple of points in the tournament, which might see them away from the tournament without reaching Semifinals or Finals. Gambhir asks fans to not blame the team for that, as they already losing crucial 2 points against Pakistan.

Gambhir firmly quoted that the team should not play Pakistan not only in the World Cup but also in the Asia Cup as well. Speaking to Times Now, Gambhir expressed his opinion out.

“We should also boycott the Asia cup so we don’t play Pakistan. No problem in forfeiting 2 points India-Pak match but the entire country should then stand behind the team and not blame them for not making it to the semis or finals,” Gambhir told Times Now.

There should not be any conditional bans:

Further, he went on to add saying that the statements like Sports are different to Politics should not be considered. Gambhir quoted that nothing should come first in front of the Soldiers, who are losing their lives for the sake of Indian people.

“That certain section who say the sport is over politics need not be considered. Nothing is bigger than the lives of the soldiers for me. We can’t put conditional bans on Pakistan, we should stop everything,” Gambhir added.

Well, it would be interesting to see whether India boycotts Pakistan or not. Recently, the chairman of CoA Vinod Rai quoted that they are yet to make any decision on the match. It will be played on June 16th.

However, one-half of the experts believe that India should not play Pakistan even if that means losing two points while the other section is of the opinion that cricket is different from Politics and a win on the playing field will be the right answer to Pakistan
