Gayle names his daughter ‘Blush’

Who knew that the line that cost him $10,000 dollars and getting slammed from all quarters for his unprofessional conduct will inspire him so much that he would name his first daughter on that incident.
That’s right, “Don’t blush, baby”, the line delivered by Gayle to Channel 10 reporter Mel McLaughlin  at a Big Bash game last summer has inspired West Indian superstar Chris Gayle to name his newly born daughter ‘Blush’.

“We would like to welcome the arrival of our beautiful daughter ‘Blush’ to this world 2 hours ago. Thank God,” Gayle wrote on an Instagram post announcing his daughter’s birth.

Last summer Gayle was fined $10,000 for an eyebrow raising sideline interview with Channel 10’s McLaughlin after his innings for the Melbourne Renegades against the Hobart Hurricanes.

“I wanted to come and have an interview with you as well,’ Gayle said on live television to McLaughlin after getting out

“That’s the reason why I’m here, just to see your eyes for the first time. It’s nice so …

“Hopefully we can win this game and have a drink after. Don’t blush baby.”

Gayle apologised the next day for his conduct and said that his comments had been “blown way out of proportion”.
“There wasn’t anything meant to be disrespectful or offensive to Mel,” he told a media scrum at Melbourne airport the following day.

“If she felt that way, I’m really sorry for that. There wasn’t any harm meant in that particular way, to harm any particular person in any particular way like that.”

However, Gayle was very angry with the media’s reaction and vented his frustration at the end of the season.
“The real ppl who stand by Gayle worldwide through the so call BS against me in the media, Thank You! To the MEDIA, Thank You all so! The Haters, I Thank you even more,” he posted on his Instagram account.

“I think a lot of past and present cricketers who smile in front my face could’ve have there say In the public when my so call issue was going on, but y’all don’t have the BALLs to stand firm when it matters.

“The past cricketer who say I make myself look like a chop, the other who claim I was no good to the youngsters while playing for the thunder, the next one who said he expect that sort of behavior from Chris – Y’all can kiss my ‘Black Rass’.”

Gayle left his Indian Premier League club Royal Challengers Bangalore to rush back to the Caribbean to be with his partner for the birth of his first child this week. He is expected to join them as soon as possible.
