“We are delighted to sign David Miller for a six-game stint. David is a fine batsman, with a wealth of experience in T20 cricket. He is a match-winner and a finisher, proven to be one of the most destructive batsmen in the game at both domestic and international level. Hopefully his signing will add depth to our batting and boost our prospects of replicating last season’s form when we secured a home quarter-final in the knockout stages,” said Hugh Morris, Glamorgan’s chief executive and director of cricket.

Miller, a regular member of South Africa limited overs team, got an opportunity to press his case for a place in Test squad as well when he was selected for the two four day game against Australia A but with the Aussie team backing out, his hopes received a bit of jolt. Though there can be a case when the selectors retained the same squad for the series against Karun Nair led India A, which can give Miller a rope of playing first-class games for second string South Africa team.

A veteran of 99 ODIs, Miller is a regular member of T20 leagues played around the world with Indian Premer League being one of them. He represented Kings XI Punjab in the T20 league and will be one of the main attractions in the IPL auction next year.
Meanwhile, South Africa is all set to take on England in penultimate Test match of the series starting next week from July 27. England has been forced to make one change due to an injury to Gary Ballance. Tom Westley and Dawid Malan have been called on the side for the Test match. South Africa is expected to go with an unchanged XI due to the win which they registered against England at Trent Bridge by 340 runs to level the series.
