Australian Cricketer has been dropped from Yorkshire Vikings twenty20 team due to disciplinary reasons. It was an untimely end to the star Aussie batsman. Yorkshire Vikings failed to reach the quarter-final of the tournament despite an incredible 8 wicket victory over Birmingham in their last match on Friday.
“It was just unprofessional behaviour and I don’t wish to add anything further. It has been dealt with and we have moved on and the slate is clean. As soon as the decision was made, we cracked on,” Yorkshire coach and former Australia quick Jason Gillespie was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.
Inspite of some moments of brilliance from Maxwell which is quite usual he didn’t make a huge impact, registering 229 runs at an average of 20.82 in 12 innings during the T20 competition and just 25 runs at an average of 8.33 in two County Championship matches.
The 26 year old was slated to play for Australia A but Maxwell decided to stay with Vikings when his fellow Aussie teammate Aaron Finch underwent foot injury earlier in the month of July. The Aussie batsman failed to turn up for the Friday’s game against Birmingham bears. The Aussie batsman has to clearly work on his discipline which at the moment seemed to threaten his cricketing career
