The all-rounder is set to represent Kings XI Punjab in the IPL 2020 which is set to commence on September 19. The 31-year-old was picked up by KXIP in the December 2019 auction by paying a hefty sum of INR 10.75 crores.
The BCCI had received the central government’s formal approval to conduct this year’s IPL in the UAE, league chairman Brijesh Patel had revealed on Monday. The IPL 2020 will begin from September 19 till November 10, a total 53-day campaign will see all the eight teams play in UAE. The venue this time is UAE and matches will be played in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

The Australian all-rounder picked his side with a majority of Indian players, picking up four overseas and 7 Indian players. In Cricbuzz’s chat show with Harsha Bhogle Maxwell revealed his best 11 of the IPL. He named fellow countryman — David Warner and RCB captain Virat Kohli as the openers of the team.
David Warner represents Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL and is the highest run-scorer amongst foreign players and fourth-highest run-scorer overall in the IPL history with a huge tally of 4,706 runs to his name.
Indian skipper, Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer in the tournament’s history with 5412 runs in the RCB colours. Maxwell picked South African legend AB de Villiers at the 3rd spot who plays for RCB. The fourth spot was acquired by CSK all-rounder Suresh Raina. Glenn Maxwell picked himself for the fifth spot.
At number six, he picked the hard-hitting giant all-rounder Andre Russell. The number seven wicket-keeping spot was given to MS Dhoni by Maxwell. The CSK skipper has led his side to three IPL victories.
