Virat Kohli might have led his team to the pinnacle of Test cricket and has contributed immensely with the bat but still his efforts were not enough to give him a place in ICC Test Team of the year.
The Delhi batsman has been in sensational form this year, scoring 1215 runs at an outstanding average of 75.93 including four centuries out of which three were double hundred. However, he missed out on the Test team because the team was selected on the basis of the performance between 14 September 2015 to 20 September 2016. During that period, the India Test skipper scored 451 runs at an average of 45.10 with just one hundred to his name.
