Former England off-spinner Graeme Swann is very unhappy about the fact that three English players – Tymal Mills, Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes are still in India playing in the Indian Premier League.

Swanny let his opinions out while commentating during the England versus Ireland game which is currently underway at the County ground in Bristol.

“It’s hugely disappointing. It sets a dangerous precedent,” Swann was quoted saying on-air.

International commitments have often emerged as a roadblock for big names that participate in the IPL. A total of six English players took part in the 10th edition of the IPL, namely Eoin Morgan, Tymal Mills, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Sam Billing and Chris Jordan.

While skipper Morgan, Billings and Jordan returned to their country, left arm fast bowler Mills, wicket keeper batsman Buttler and all-rounder Stokes have decided to stay back.

Mills is currently contracted with Royal Challengers Bangalore who has been already ousted from the tournament. Buttler is the part of the Mumbai Indians. His team sits at the top of the points table currently, Stokes, who was the most expensive player this season, is currently acting as the backbone of the Rising Pune Supergiant.

Swann clearly was no amused to see these highly important names missing from Friday’s game. His opinion seems valid to a great extent, as the individuals must have made sure to join the team before a bilateral series.

The Two-match ODI series is being staged as means to gain some match practice ahead of the crucial Champion Trophy 2017 that begins in the month of June on English soil.

England, who were the runners-up in the last edition which was held in 2013, will be entering the tournament, as one of the strong favourites to win this time around.
