MS Dhoni, 139 vs Australia, Mohali (2013)

This is another century innings by MS Dhoni which went into vain. In the 3rd ODI match against Australia in 2013, the host won the toss and elected to bat at Mohali.
India’s top order was dismantled early as the side was reeling at 5-148. The wicket-keeper batsman controlled the game and played power-packed innings, hitting boundaries against the Australians.
Dhoni smashed a brutal 139 off 121 balls, an innings which included 12 fours and five sixes. And, India set a mammoth total of 304 runs. Ishant Sharma and Jadeja picked the early wickets of the top order and middle order, but James Faulkner took away the game from India.
Requiring 44 to win off the last 18 balls, Faulkner collected 30 runs from Ishant’s last over and scripted a whirlwind win for his side.
