Zaheer Khan:
After Kapil Dev and Javagal Srinath, the onus of leading India’s bowling attack rested on the shoulders of one man – none other than Zaheer Khan. He was India’s most reliable bowler for nearly a decade, quite sensibly making up for the loss of pace with brilliant accuracy and the ability to swing both the old and new ball both ways.
However, Zaheer Khan’s final Test at Wellington in 2014, where he didn’t get any wicket in the first innings, and 5 in the second innings, actually remembered for Brendon McCullum’s famous triple century, and Zaheer never got to play another Test match after that one. It’s really sad that he wasn’t given any more opportunities to play.
