The GT vs SRH game is scheduled to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (March 31).
GT will be looking to get back to winning ways when they host high-flying SRH. The Shubman Gill-led side began their campaign in IPL 2024 with a win over Mumbai Indians before losing their last game against Chennai Super Kings.
On the other hand, SRH’s captain began with a loss against Kolkata Knight Riders before they beat Mumbai Indians to open their account in IPL 2024. The Hyderabad-based outfit won the game by 31 runs after posting a mammoth total of 277/3/ Before the game, we are taking a look at the probable playing elevens of both the teams.
GT Playing XI:
Openers: Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Shubman Gill (c)
Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill are set to open the innings for GT. In the first two games, they shared a stand of 31 and 28 runs and the onus will be on them to give GT a good start against SRH.
Middle-order batters and allrounders: Azmatullah Omarzai, David Miller, Abhinav Manohar, Rahul Tewatia
GT could make one change to their middle-order. Vijay Shankar could be dropped from the playing eleven after scoring 6 and 12 in the last two games. He could be replaced by Abhinav Manohar. The likes of David Miller, Azmatullah Omarzai and Rahul Tewatia will be looking to make an impact with the bat in the upcoming game after failing to do so against CSK.
Bowlers: Rashid Khan, R Sai Kishore, Umesh Yadav, Mohit Sharma, Spencer Johnson
GT are likely to play the game with an unchanged bowling lineup and are set to field three frontline pacers and two spinners. All the GT bowlers were expensive against CSK and would be looking to improve against high-scoring SRH.
SRH Playing XI:
Openers: Travis Head, Mayank Agarwal
Travis Head and Mayank Agarwal are set to open the innings for SRH against GT. Playing his first IPL game since 2017, Head scored a 18-ball fifty against MI and will be looking to continue the same form. On the other hand, Agarwal was out for 11 and will be eyeing a big score.
Middle-order batters and allrounders: Abhishek Sharma, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen (wk), Abdul Samad, Shahbaz Ahmed
Abhishek Sharma, Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen had brilliant outings with the bat in the last game. While Sharma scored a 16-ball fifty and Markram scored an unbeaten 42, Klaasen smashed an unbeaten 80 off just 34 balls. Abdul Samad and Shahbaz Ahmed did not get the chance to bat but the latter made an impact with the ball by dismissing the dangerous Ishan Kishan.
Bowlers: Pat Cummins (c), Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mayank Markande, Jaydev Unadkat
SRH are unlikely to change the bowling lineup after the win over MI. Pat Cummins and Jaydev Unadkat picked up two wickets each while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mayank Markande went wicketless but are likely to retain their spots in the team.
