In an explosive report, reputed magazine India today claims that almost half of the matches in the IPL 6 were fixed, after investigating latest transcripts between Gurunath and Vindoo.

In the transcripts, claims India today, Gurunath and Vindoo are heard discussing their plans to place bets on the match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) on May 12, 2013.

Gurunath told, as can be heard in transcripts that, Vindoo that CSK will score around 140 in that match. CSK ended up scoring 141 runs after being 89/0 after 11 overs.

Transcripts also reveal that Gurunath placed bets worth Rs.1.4 crore against CSK in that match and also convinced his friend and partner-in-crime Vindoo that Rajasthan Royals will win.

Transcripts also reveal that on May 12, 2013, at 09:09 pm Gurunath, having already placed bets worth Rs.20 lakh, urges Vindoo to put Rs.30 lakh more on Royals.

Further, Gurunath is heard as saying: “RR is winning pakka.”

It also reavels that spot-fixing was not only related to one match, as before the start of another CSK match, on 14 May, Gurunath shares team strategy of CSK with Vindoo. Vindoo then inquires: “Albie, Holder, Bravo, Hussey?” Gurunath replies to that question: “No other change, no other change.”

One more discussion by the pair on the same date reveals that Gurunath also gave inside information to Vindoo about team composition, weather and toss before the CSK-Delhi Daredevils game.

On the other hand, G. Sampath Kumar, a police officer who was one of the witness before the Justice Mudgal Committee, asks the investigation to be handed over to competant authority like the National Investigation Agency.

“I asked for an investigation by an agency like the NIA along with a joint investigation team. I had a feeling that this investigation was not [moving] on the right lines because the very FIR [filed by the Delhi police at the time of arresting Sreesanth and two other cricketers] mentions match-fixing. It’s in the FIR itself but it was not probed properly,” Kumar stated on Headlines Today.

On meeting between bookie Vikram Aggarwal and Gurunath Sampath claimed:”There were reported meetings between Vikram Aggarwal and Meiyappan. Vikram asked Meiyappan to talk to a few CSK players and Meiyappan approached Dhoni and Raina in a party.”

If media reports are to be believed then Dhoni’s name allegedly appears in a sealed envelope submitted to the Supreme Court by the Justice Mudgal committee.

The matter is now sub-judice and the next scheduled hearing fixed by Supreme Court is on 7 March, 2014.
