Gambhir-led Delhi team had not shown the minimum courtesy to the opposition Service team after finishing the match in Feroze Shah Kotla Stadium which made the Service’ captain Yashpal Singh hurt tremendously. After the match got finished Delhi side refused to shake hands with the Service team.

ThHand Shake spurn: Gambhir-led Delhi’s audacity makes Service-Captain ‘hurt’e whole Service team waited on the field for at least half an hour to shake hands with the Delhi team but all of them failed to show up this minimum amount of courtsey. They did not even congratulate the Service side.

Service skipper Yashpal said, “What kind of behavior is this? We waited for them to shake hands with us as it is a norm. Neither the captain nor the coach had the basic courtesy to come out and congratulate us.”

After the match Delhi team not only avoided the opposition team but the media-persons also who were present in the Stadium to cover the game.  They even sidestepped the rear gate to avoid the journalists and no one from the Delhi side came on record.

But in accordance with Skipper Yashpal Singh, Delhi did this kind of insulting behavior in earlier days too. “This is not the first time that we got this behavior from Delhi. A few seasons back, we defeated them in Syed Mushtaq Ali Twenty20 International (T20I) at Kotla and they did the same thing.” Yashpal sounded very distressed. “I agreed that we are of smaller stature as players but we surely can expect at least this much self-respect from them.” He added.

What is more surprising and more hurting to him is that some of the players of Delhi team were his co-players in the North Zone team. “Personally, it hurts me even more that I have played in the North Zone team alongside some of the players,” he said.

But as mentioned no one from Delhi side came to the spotlight to justify this behavior of their team. A close source of Gambhir has said that both the bowlers Ashish Nehra and Ishant Sharma got injured in the match. But the nature of their injuries was still unknown.
