"I am very happy for winning the series," says Man of the match, Saha 1

Indian cricket team cruised to an easy Test victory against New Zealand in the penultimate Test match of the series. Team India had a tough start to the Test match losing few early wickets but Cheteshwar Pujara once again came to the rescue scoring the third consecutive half-century in the first innings. Rahane and Saha also joined him in his mission with Saha continuing his great form in the second innings as well scoring two not out half-centuries in the game. It was a difficult pitch to bat with the ball sometimes bouncing to an unreachable height whereas kept sometimes kept low with no bounce at all.

Wriddhiman Saha, however, looked patient and controlled scoring half centuries in both innings. He was awarded Man of the Match award for his gritty efforts. It was a memorable victory for the team winning 250th Test match at home.

Saha was quite cheerful in the post-match presentation ceremony, here are some excerpts from the presentation party –

“I’m very happy for winning the series and getting my first man of the match,” Saha says. “My teammates and the crowd supported me a lot. Not much pressure. I’m just going in to bat, defending the good balls, rotating the strike, and putting the bad ball away to the boundary. The West Indies hundred boosted my confidence, but I didn’t score much in Kanpur, that’s why I took my time in the initial few balls. I just did my job behind the stumps, nothing much. I just keep watching the ball till the last, and soft hands, that’s it.”
